So Robin Van Persie has finally joined Manchester United after a summer of speculation. The deal is worth around £24 million for the Gunners skipper and in the end, maybe it is a good bit of business from Arsene Wenger.  Although everyone assessing football bets  will agree that last season, the Dutchman was an instrumental figure in Arsenal’s campaign and they would have been nowhere without him – it was the only time he had made more than 30 appearances in a season in the Premier League.  Wenger...

Greetings fellow Gooners! Yes, it’s that time again, isn’t it?! International break misery has set in and the tabloids are left with literally nothing else to do but find a few new ways to beat Arsenal fans over the head! Worst of all, they seem to be able to find hundreds of old ways to do it too! This situation is not helped when Peter Hill-Wood, the Arsenal equivalent of Prince Phillip, decides it is time to open that ludicrous out of control trap of his! Speaking on the subject of...

Greetings fellow Gooners! I know, you expected something directly after the game against Bolton on Saturday and your hearts were broken when I chose not to write a single word on the topic until now! The main reason for this is that for the last match report I broke the “golden rule of sports blogging” and wrote whilst I was angry which led me to decide that it was probably just a much a sin to write when I was happy too! In truth, the things I would have splurged onto the page on Saturday...

…some of the time, but if you are Arsene Wenger or Arsenal Football Club you will struggle to please pretty much anybody, anytime these days! Seriously folks, yesterday saw the final tally of signings in the past week cruise to a lofty 5 and for the day an insanely intense and indescribably inciting more than 3 and less than 5! Got that?! We signed four whole players on the final day of the transfer window! Transfer window totals make even more crazy reading: 11 players out the door, 9 players...

Just few hours from now could really define our season in a nutshell. It hasn’t been a great week for us has it now? It hasn’t been a great summer full stop. Loosing at the weekend has not helped one bit to be honest with you. We saw the last of Nasri then, today he is checking house prices somewhere up north but more on that later. Tonight we take on Udinese in MASSIVE second leg of our Champions League qualifier to the group stages. We hold a lead which is a slender lead but still...

Farewell Francesc Fabregas!

alt text

It might sound odd, but a lot of Arsenal fans are probably glad to see the back of Cesc Fabregas. The transfer story surrounding him seems to have rumbled on for all eternity and some might even argue it has hampered Arsenal’s progress. That’s not to say that Fabregas has not given his all for the club when playing – but with a dream move to Barcelona in the back of his mind, you’d have to say his heart cannot have been fully in it. There is no doubt that Fabregas is a genuinely world class...
